We are very pleased to invite you to an open seminar in Wroclaw, Poland. With this invitation we want to draw your attention that the work in project REMOWE (Regional Mobilizing of Sustainable Waste-to-Energy Production) has started.

The first meeting will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, on Wednesday 3rd of March (09.00 - 13.00). The work starts with an open seminar in which general public, companies, politicians and other stakeholders are invited to attend. We will start with an introduction to the different work packages in the REMOWE project and later regional presenters will give an insight into the local/regional conditions for how waste can be used as a renewable energy source.
During the seminar project partners from Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Sweden and Germany give short presentations of the potentials in their countries on the subject "waste as an energy source".

The first working meeting for implementation bodies regarding the EUSBSR will take place as planned on 11 March 2010 in Riga. Latvia. The aim is to invite all key actors in the implementation phase in order to get to know each other and to solve also practical issues on how to find good ways of working together in order to support the implementation of the EUSBSR.

Invited actors are the National Contact Points, Priority Area Coordinators, The INTERACT Laboratory Group for EUSBSR, Mainstream and CBC programmes in the Region, International Funding institutions and of course key persons from the Commission. INTERACT will also invite some Flag Ship leaders to be present in the working meeting.

There will be plenary sessions but also break out work shops at least on four major themes:
1) Major Project Financing (Energy/"BEMIP") with stakeholders also from DG Energy, EIB and NIB
2) How to deal with the labelling and reporting processes for National and Regional OP:s
3) Labelling and reporting issues for ETC- and ENPI CBC-Programmes
4) EUSBSR in project selection, prioritising and weighing proposals
Discussions on the Communication issues and the Operational flow will be a crucial part of all these 4 break out work shops mentioned above.

Options to support sustainable bioenergy production with focus on stationary applications for generating heat, cold and electricity.

12th March 2010:
Sustainability certification systems for transport biofuels and bioliquids

Outline of different approaches to certification systems and discussion of first practical experiences of implementation in EU Member States.

The workshop addresses decision-makers representing national governments and governmental authorities from the Baltic Sea Region and Central Europe, in particular those involved in the elaboration of REAPs and working on sustainability issues. It will provide a platform for an in-depth exchange of opinion and good practices from 15 different countries.

Registration:

Participation is free of charge. Due to security reasons, prior registration is required until February 12.
